First, I would like to thank you all again for the very kind words of support you've sent during this time with my mom. You and the kids have helped to "fill my bucket" each and every day. Thank you!
Friday we had some leprechaun fun in the anticipation of St. Patrick's Day. After learning about the leprechauns, we thought it might be fun to try to catch one, so we designed Leprechaun Traps! Just like all engineers, we first got with our partners and discussed and created our designs, wrote our list of materials and then set to work..
Our Unit of Inquiry, Sharing the Planet, continues to focus on goal setting, problem solving, meeting needs and wants and of course communicating. Projects like these are such a great way to see these concepts in action.

Listening to everyone explain how their trap worked and seeing their creativity was a highlight of my week. I absolutely love the PERSUASIVE signs too, nice touch kiddos!
Be sure to check out this poster to see everyone's creativity during student-led conferences this week!
