This week we also kicked off our new unit of inquiry!
After coming into our room with our new ENORMOUS world map hanging, everyone was wondering what we would be learning about next. The students randomly cut out letters and after we had a mystery. I let them know that the letters spelled a mystery message that would tell us our next unit of inquiry. After some sorting (letters first and then colors) the students were able to make out the three words.
Then they put it together, Where We Are in Place and Time!
Central Idea:
We can use different tools to discover the world.
Lines of Inquiry:
Form- Maps and models, location and landmarks
Connection- people and places
Perspective: Homes and stories from around the world

If you have any pictures of fun locations you've visited, please send them in. We would love to add these to our planner.
Avon Lake Eagle Cam
We did not plan this, but we sure are enjoying watching the Eagle Cam and using this tool to learn about our world. Perfect timing! Waiting for the egg to hatch....
