Have you heard about our new Kindergarten Library? This all came after reading a book, Ron's Big Mission. The students were so inspired by the story of Ron McNair they created their own classroom library. With a. focus on our central idea, Sharing and problem solving can meet needs and wants, we worked to determine what a library would need and the students took it from there. Needless to say they've had some problems to work through, but they have really hard to figure it all out. What fun it was to watch this all unfold.
Maddox was so inspired by the book, he went home and made a poster showcasing Ron's life. What great action!
Math Fun
Using a number line as a tool to solve equations was a big focus this week. This is a challenging concept. Playing boardgames definitely helps. If anyone has some they would like to donate to the class, we would really appreciate it.
We also started a new weekly challenge: our Estimation Jar. This is a fun way to practice being able to reason abstractly and qualitatively. *Pretty fancy work right?
