I know each week we do so much, but honestly it isn't until I sit to write the blog and review all the pictures that I realize just how much. This week we continued to explore our unit Who We Are and make connections with our friends. I love to hear our kinders use our IB terminology with confidence, "I have a connection with..., I reflected and this is what I think..., "It's o.k., that's just his persecutive." I hope you are seeing this at home too.
Many families have mentioned that their child is doing a lot more writing at home. YAY! As you know, we do a lot of writing in school and it is great that they are continuing at home too. This week, we really focused on what makes a sentence, at least a noun/verb and then have begun adding some details. We sure have fun building sentences together.

More of our kindergarten fun:
Going to the Book Fair is a HUGE (seriously that word is not big enough) event in kindergarten. We were more than excited to shop for our books, and the fact that is was right outside our door helped the anticipation build even more. An enormous THANK YOU to all the parent volunteers who helped our shopping time run so smoothly.
Our central idea is "Children learn about themselves and others by sharing and trying new things." With that in mind, we thought a day of pumpkin fun might be in order. We made Pumpkin Fluff (we wrote the recipe in our journals, be sure to take a look during conferences), studied the life cycle of a pumpkin and are even trying to grow our own. Take a look at our slide show to see all our fun! **Note the super caring watering. They knew it didn't need very much but wanted lots of friends to get a turn.
Fall Festival
We could not have asked for a more perfect day yesterday for our Fall Festival. It was so much fun seeing everyone together to enjoy one another's company and the beautiful weather.
This Week:
Student-led Conferences are on Wednesday. *Time reminders will come home on Monday. There is no school.
